What is the PNEP Elephant Trust?
The PNEP Elephant Trust was formed to provide financial security to ensure the long-term care of our elephants to the highest standards of welfare and health in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Ever since we were founded in 2015, we have relied on the generosity of the people who visit our park to learn about and care for our elephants. As we have grown and developed over the years (especially during the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic) we have realised the need to plan for any eventuality, such as the death of the principals, another pandemic, or unexpected geopolitical constraints.
Caring for elephants properly and humanely is extremely expensive. On top of the cost of feed and supplements, we must include veterinary treatments and vaccinations, as well as the wages, housing, and medical care of the carers. The PNEP Trust will ensure that we have a reliable source of funds under the control of independent Trustees that will guarantee in the event of unanticipated contingencies that we can provide the best possible care for our elephants in the years to come.

Visit us
Visiting PNEP is the best way to get to know us and to see how we care for the elephants. You will be directly supporting us while getting a first-hand insight of the daily routines, feeding and healthcare of our precious elephant herd. Our guests gain a better understanding about the realities of working with and caring for elephants, that are not only an endangered species but of great cultural importance in Thailand.
